The Gold Coast’s Award Winning Markets…
‘Paws at the Park’ are now in their 5thyear, with 9 enormous doggo events and to date they’ve raised over $35,000 for their charity partner Animal Welfare League Qld (AWLQ). The concept of the markets was imagined and then brought to life by dog lovers Jenna Schroeder & Lia Ferguson who had attended regular markets but couldn’t help but wonder how it would be, to have a market just for local doggy businesses to promote themselves and their products.
They started with humble beginnings in 2016 at Musgrave Park having 20 stalls, a pancake cook-up fundraiser and a van selling coffee. Since then loads more people have become interested and these days the market is attracting huge numbers of people (and dogs). As local businesses get to showcase what they offer customers can get plenty of information from the stall holders and it’s a great way to try things on for size.
You’ll find no shortage of dog products, dog services, dog fashion, training and health tips. Browse the stalls and investigate anything from treats to natural therapies. Your senses will experience a feast of dogs, big and small, you’ll see them all. Of course, the AWLQ will be there so you can meet some of their gorgeous doggo’s looking for forever homes. The AWLQ work with councils and rescue groups to create improved outcomes for doggies without a home. They are a registered charity and find adoption placements for hundreds of dogs every year.
‘Paws at the Park have some great activities too. Perhaps you’d like to try some ‘Doga’ (thank goodness we don’t have to socially distance from our dogs). Take a slide, take a ride… your pup can play, or simply lap up attention as they’ll have plenty of admirers.
The next ‘Paws at the Park’ event is scheduled for 7thNovember 2020. Click the link below for an excellent taste of what’s on offer and please keep an eye on their website for details…
