Lost & Found Dogs

If your dog is ever lost it is possible to do an online animal search to find out if your dog is at a Council shelter.  See their website. If they do not appear there contact the council directly to register your details.

Sometimes a dog does not look exactly like the photo a shelter has.  So for example, if your dog is not micro-chipped you may want to go and look in person.

Registering your dog is advisable as unregistered animals may be put up for adoption or even euthanized if they are not claimed within 5 days of being held.  Of course some animal refuges have a ‘No-Kill’ policy.  It is best to have a list of contacts for local council or other refuges handy in case your dog goes missing or if you find a lost animal.
