Help us celebrate Man’s Best Friend on World Animal Day – October 4
Our Pets are an important part of the Family, therefore we have a dedicated Day to celebrate what they mean to us. Its also a good remeinder to check we’re doing our best for our 4four-legged Friends.
As a caring & responsible Owner of a Dog you should –
Provide a safe environment where your dog can practice it’s natural behaviours;
Make sure you rdog always has fresh water;
Feed your dog a balanced diet of RAW meaty bones and as much raw food as possible including chicken necks, drumsticks, low fat mince, kangaroo meat, tuna and you can grate some vegetables in there as well. A high quality dry food (no by-products, cereals, salt or grain) once a week if needed;
Give your dog shelter from the weather, keep him cool in summer and warm in winter. Use a spray bottle filled with ¼ metho and ¾ water to spray on the area your dog sweats like on the foot pads, & under the arm pits. The metho in the mix helps dry the water quickly;
Have you rdog regularly groomed and a bath once a week is ideal;
Have your dog vaccinated;
Provide regular worming and flea & tick control treatment & Regular vet check ups;
Provide high quality holiday dog boarding or pet sitting arrangements while you’re away;
Identify your dog with a ID tag, registration and a microchip;
Provide a good amount of Exercise for your dog. Exercise is the key to a healthy and well- behaved dog, so make sure that you can squeeze in at least one good, long walk each day.There is probably no better form of exercise for your dog than Hound Doggy Day Care Adventures. This type of exercise revolves around your dogs’s Natural Environment. The swimming component of our dog daycare, is very gentle on a dog’s joints (especially after operations etc) and is a wonderful form of exercise and helps with the overall fitness of your dog. The benefits of regular Socialisation within our doggy day care, can not to be underestimated;
World Animal Day started in 1931 to draw attention to endangered Species. October 4 is the feast of St Frances, the patron saint of Animals. So use World Animal Day to show your Pet how much they mean to you – take your dog for a walk, throw a ball or buy them a new toy to show them how much you love them.
