Sounds like dog
Getting a dog used to new things is a lengthy process because you may need to wait until an experience occurs or have to create them.
Please don’t underestimate the importance of conditioning your dog to sounds. This can be done right at home but ideally would occur in new or outside environments aswell. Motorbikes, vacuums and garbage trucks are all sounds he/she will encounter but unless you have a motorbike or truck you may be waiting weekly to hear one. As far as thunderstorms go, you could be out at work and not with your dog the next time the skies erupt.
Build your puppy or dog up to tolerating sounds or desensitize. You can create a positive association with doorbells, telephones etc. It doesn’t always have to be treats. Toys or play are also positive rewards. Ideally not highly excited play but enough to make it more attractive and swing the focus away from the sound stimulus.
There are even a variety of apps available for your mobile so you can have sounds for dog training right at your fingertips.
