In March 2012 a couple in the U.K. met each other at a 2 week guide dog training course. Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffey (both blind) got chatting when their Labrador-retrievers found a playmate in each other.
The two dogs couldn’t get enough of each other and would’ve played ‘til the cows came home. The trainers suggested ‘Venice’ and ‘Rodd’ were the “romance of the course”. After all, it was them that brought Johnson and Gaffey together.
The couple discovered that they only lived a walking distance from each other and began meeting for doggy play dates. When the pair decided to marry it was an easy decision about who would be the ring bearers for the special occasion.
