Apps for dogs
If you have a smart phone then you might like to think about having an app for your dog. Well not for your doggy to use of course but to store all his details, photo, microchip number etc.
There are a whole bunch of them available offering anything from including breed, photo etc right up to special requirements and notes.
Some require location services if you wish to look up a nearby pet food supplier, vet or off-leash park. One I checked out allowed you to instantly email your dogs details (in case he/she was missing). Some are linked with a doggy cam so you can see what’s going on at home whilst you’re out and others and even track your dog and its movement, levels of exercise etc.
Many of these types of apps include medication reminders and some can be synced with your regular calendar. However make sure you choose one that caters to all your requirements. For example, our dog has some of his medication 3 monthly but on the reminders in some apps there is only provision to choose hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Or if you’re just a dog enthusiast and would like to sharpen your skills in recognizing breeds there is are several apps for that too.
