Just look at these beautiful products supporting recycling
When Steph Stubbe began her career with animals as a Veterinarian with the RSPCA she was about to see an even bigger picture. She was stunned by the volume of wildlife patients, which had sustained injuries or died due to human pollution (particularly plastic). But she knew it wasn’t enough just to talk about making changes. She wanted to be proactive in her approach to the situation.
A year of extensive research preceded Steph launching her first collection of doggy leashes and collars which are remarkably, made from recycled plastic !
As you are aware, it has only really been in the last year or so that the community have been strongly encouraged (via the supermarket) to reduce the amount of single use plastic bags in our daily lives. The micro plastics are another ‘kettle of fish’. They are ingested by marine life and have already infiltrated the food chain. Plastics are not only causing havoc in our oceans but also in our waterways and estuaries. So what better way to deal with a deluge of litter but to recycle. Steph decided to give plastic a second life by turning it into a type of yarn. From this, a number of products can be made.
Anipal’s collars and leads are adorned in radiant and delightful colours (and you’ll see an aquatic theme of course).
Anipal’s mission is to lead by example through adopting a proactive approach for the environment by giving useful materials a second purpose. Their goal is to benefit all of our Anipals.
