Size matters
The size of a wild dog pack differs from one region to another. Availability of food and resources and can help determine the most effective number along with the size of the territory and the seasons.
The actual size of a dog seems to matter far less than the energy it exudes. At least to other dogs anyway. I have seen the most unlikely looking small dogs control enormous dogs.
The size of your yard matters only if you are using it. However, no matter how large your yard and how many games you may play in it with your dog, stimulation outside this area is important for enrichment. A walk outside your yard is worth its weight in gold.
There is no cookie-cutter-one-size-fits-all when it comes to dog training. Training with your dog is life long. It needs to begin, develop, refresh and adjust for the duration of your relationship. Dogs are individuals like us and we need to tweek, vary and explore in order to find what motivates them.
