Restraining your dog in the car – It’s the law.
There are a number of reasons to restrain your dog whilst in the car, the least of which in most states is a hefty fine.
Your dog can not only be a distraction but even when calm,he/she will become a live missile if there’s nothing to stop that body from moving forward in a sudden stop or accident.
Having the dog’s collar tethered to something is not quite sufficient and could result in serious neck tissue damage for him or worse. If your dog is un-restrained, his body can end up the other side
of your windshield and can inflict injury on passengers on his way past. Your dog’s body will move just like any other object even if he is used to the car. Let’s do it because we love our dogs and not just to obey the rules.
