Pet Gadgets
Do You love technology? And we know you love your dog, so combining the two makes all the sense in the world. But, do you really need a collar attachment that cleverly sends automatic updates to your dog’s personal Twitter account? Im guessing not! So, rather than being about necessity, these gadgets listed below are about having fun with your dog (and Cat).
1. The Pet Tracker
The Tagg pet tracker is a GPS attachment for your dog’s collar that has two specific functions. First, it tracks your dog in case it ever gets lost. The app will send you a text message or email if your dog travels past its designated boundaries, then lead you to the your dog’s location. Second, it tracks your dog’s activities like a canine Fitbit or Fuelband, so you can make sure your dog is getting enough exercise throughout the day.
Cost: The device costs $99.95, and the service costs $7.95 per month after a three-month free trial.
2. The Woofer
The Woofer essentially turns your dog into an iPod dock. There are speakers sewn into the fabric, and a pouch with a standard speaker jack for your MP3 player of choice.
Cost: Between $100 and $120, depending on the size of your dog.
Puppy Tweets
Puppy Tweets is a fun way to keep track of your dog when you’re at work or elsewhere. A sensor on the dog’s collar sends a signal to a USB receiver attached to your own computer. The sensor then figures out what your dog is doing and then updates you on your dog’s personal Twitter account with a clever tweet such as, “Are you at lunch mum/dad? Remember the : DOGGIE Bones!”
Cost: The device is currently selling for about $15 on Amazon.
4. Go-Go Dog Pals
As we are all aware, Dogs need daily exercise to stay healthy, both mentally and physically, just like we do. The Go-Go Dog Pal is a remote-controlled device made to look like a small critter. According to the Go-Go Dog Pal’s product website, the remote control works at long range, and the device is capable of speeds surpassing 20 mph (35 km/h).
Cost: $229.99
GoDogGo Remote Fetch Machine
This automatic fetch machine will save you some unwanted wear and tear on your arm and it’s fun. It launches balls more than 40 ft. You can fill the bucket with one ball or launch several in succession depending on how your dog likes to play. I think this one is terrific!
Cost: $139.99
6. Dart Automatic Laser Toy
Do you love to watching your cat chase a laser beam? Here’s a fun idea. With this automatic rotating laser, you won’t need to wave your arm around. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the fun. Very stimulating fun for cats.
Cost: $29.99
7. MagneClip
When walking your dog, we all know that hooking the leash on can be sometimes time consuming and a bit of a struggle. Fido Fashion is looking to make that a thing of the past and this all a bit simpler with its MagneClip. Instead of a spring-loaded clip, the hook uses a small magnet that straps on gently but holds a great deal of weight.
Cost: The company is currently marketing the product on Indiegogo with packages ranging from $8 for a small MagneClip, to $350 for a retailer bundle.
8. National Geographic Wild Pet’s Eye View Camera
This is an idea we’ve thought we would eventually evolve to with our Dog Daycare Movies and adventure Photo’s ! Similar to a “Go-Pro Camera”. Strap a camera to your pet’s collar and see what it is up to. You can set the camera to snap photos in intervals of one, five or 15 minutes. The device stores 40 photos, and it comes with a USB cable to upload them onto your computer. How fun would this be to get a bird’s eye view of your dog on his doggy day care fun, and see what he see’s at his level, within the group at the park or beach!
Hope you enjoyed some of these Pet Gadget idea’s, I certainly was amazed to learn about what’s out there. Until next time,
