Pet App’s
For most of us, the household pet is so much more than a companion; it’s a member of the family. So, we assume the same responsibilities with our pets as we would when dealing with close friends or family membesr. Responsible Dog Owners keep a sharp eye on their dog’s health by regular visits to the vet and oversee the dog’s dioet to make sure he’s receiving the correct nutrition. These are great responsibilities, and lik eso many other things in today’s world, technology can be a useful tool.
These day’s, there are so many great mobile apps geared for all types of purposes, including caring of your pet. It’s overwhelming actually to go through all the great mobile app options, so it become necessary for me to narrow it down the list that I consider to be the cream of the crop.
Ok, so with that in mind (& remembering this is only my opinion) here are some of the best iPhone apps for pet owners.
Dog Whistle – free
Who would have dreamed that the iPhone would turn out to be an accomplished dog trainer? With Dog Whistle, that’s exactly the role the handheld assumes. This straightforward app provides a digital dog whistle and the owner selects the appropriate frequency from a number of different options. The user then pushes the “Play” button and the training can start. Pretty clever, don’t you agree!
This app could be a good idea for our dog day care adventures/dog walking or even our pet sitting where a little extra training is needed.
PetsBook – $0.99
Monitoring the health of your dog, as mentioned is a serious responsibility, and I know many people who could use some help and advise . With PetsBook, pet owners can keep track of vet appointments, vaccinations and records all through a sleek interface. As well as this, users can upload photos of their pet, create profiles and write stories next to the photo about their favourite four-legged friend. Pet owners can make their vet appointments directly through this app. Talk about getting very organised.
iKibble – $0.99
Those of us who are serious about providing the best in nutrition can benefit by installing this next app on their iPhone. The iKibble is a comprehensive database of pet food that allows the user to search by different pet categories, including pet type. This app provides important and detailed nutritional and product information for those pet owners that have special dietary requirements. It can even provide a list of tasty treats for those pets that have earned a treaty!
Pet First Aid – $3.99
It’s always a bit of a worry when dealing with a pet’s health concerns, but with Pet First Aid, you can have a little peace of mind know you can get comprehensive information in the form of detailed tutorials and video illustrations that guide you on how to administer first aid to your pet. This vital app covers everything from common injuries to giving meds to even performing CPR.
This one, I highly recommend as it could save a life.
My Pets – Ask the Vets – $19.99
Those of us who are concerned about their pet’s health and who would like direct access to real-world advice from actual vets, will find this app very useful indeed. It’s not cheap but it’s a small price to pay for being able to put to rest any serious health concerns regarding your pet the very moment a potential crisis arises. This is real peace of mind in my opinion.
In the world of mobile apps, there are new options available almost every day. As we all know, technology is ever-changing and it makes my head spin! No doubt, there will be more clever pet-based apps on the market soon.. Regardless, these app options won’t lose their relevancy anytime soon and should provide pet owners with all they need regarding their most loved , less human, furry members of the family.
