Not Just A Walking The Dog
I recently read an article of observations by a professional dog walker who draws many comparisons between dogs and humans. He says that he has learned more about social interaction and success from watching the dogs he works with than from human experts.
Some lessons include…
Being tuned into the body language of others so you can respond accordingly.
Teach by offering positive reinforcement and celebrating successes.
Get physical exercise, plenty of it and make sure to stretch first (the first thing you’ll see your dog do when he stands after sleeping).
One trouble-maker in a group can effect the entire group in a negative fashion.
Don’t carry around grudges because they don’t help.
Be direct and ask when you want something.
Live in the moment and live the way you want to regardless of what others are doing.
Hanging out with others of a similar energy can be most beneficial.
