FANGtastic Dog Teeth
If your dogs teeth require attention from the vet, you’re possibly looking at paying around $400 just for a basic scale and clean. This usually involves an anaesthetic (for the dog that is). How often this would be required varies from annually for some dogs, every 3 years for others, right up to some dogs who go to their grave with beautiful pearly whites without a vet clean. But most would require at least one veterinary clean in their lifetime. The frequency needed depends on the age, breed of your dog, it’s current dental situation and many other considerations. Some folks put in the hard work and condition their dog to open their mouth and to accept a toothbrush or finger brush.
We suggest that if you are going to do this to do your research first from a professional on technique, tools etc. For example, you should only use dog approved toothpaste on your K9. Many human grade toothpastes contain fluoride that is dangerous when ingested by dogs.
