Dogs detecting
Amongst our dogs’ incredible capacities, one is to detect weaknesses much like wolves do with prey. Detecting weaker prey has been mostly reported as a visual skill, spotting for example smaller prey or those that move differently or slower than the rest.
This type of hunting reduces the chance of injury to the predator and also is likely to use up less precious energy.
This cycle in nature tends to be kind in one way as described in a popular story… the example explains an injured animal which is hunted and caught by the pack could otherwise potentially go on suffering a long time if they had not been caught and their life ended swiftly.
I wonder if their capacity to detect some medical conditions in humans is purely due to an incredible sense of smell or could it be an extension of their ability to detect a potential weakness in living beings.
