Using a service like this can provide a hassle free way to move your pet in a professional fashion.  It might be because you are moving house, buying a pet from interstate or he simply needs a lift to the groomer or vet.

Dogs should have some energy burned off before being contained in a small area for travel.  This way he’ll be more likely to sleep or rest during the trip.  They also need sufficient time to eliminate before being loaded.  Travel is another reason to crate train your dog.  The last thing you will want is extra stress of how he can handle being confined.  Even if your dog is not regularly sleeping in a crate at home keep him crate trained and you will thank yourself should a situation arise (including at the vets) where he needs to be crated.

For air travel, find out requirements from the airline well in advance.  Chat to your vet about possible tactics to make the trip more relaxing for your dog and how much your dog should eat prior.  Some will recommend fasting for up to 6 hours before travel but it will also depend on the length of the trip.  If your dog is travelling a distance he will likely be more exposed to other animals.  Make sure his vaccinations are up to date.
