Your dog cannot ignore his DNA.  Although all dogs may be born equal it won’t be long before you see your dogs unique qualities showing through.  And if your dog is some type of shepherd or herding dog please don’t be amazed to see him rounding up the kids.  And if you have a hunting dog he might be oh so eager to eye-off next door’s chooks.

Look up the history of breeds to find out why they were designed the way they are and what they were used for.  Traits that influence behaviour need to be considered when choosing the breed of your dog and dogs need an outlet to express their natural inclinations.

We can tap into activities that make your dog feel satisfied e.g. your scent hound will probably really enjoy nosework and games of the like.  Working breeds need to feel ‘employed’ etc.
