Knowledge, awareness & confidence
Brisbane’s Only Dog Park Coaching Service
Dog parks can be wonderful places for exercise, enrichment and social interaction. But they can also present real challenges when owners don’t fully understand dog body language, behaviour, group dynamics, or the warning signs that problems may be developing.
Conflicts between dogs can happen quickly and may lead to stress, fear, injuries or long-term behavioural issues if situations aren’t recognised early enough.
Our goal is not to frighten dog owners — it’s to empower them. Understanding park etiquette, reading body language, and recognising when to step in — or when to leave — are invaluable skills that may one day prevent a serious incident.

The foundation of every great relationship
Understanding Body Language
Dog body language is a sophisticated nonverbal language — the primary way dogs communicate with each other, and with us. Every movement, from the position of their ears and tail to the way they carry their body, tells us a story about how they’re feeling emotionally.
Learning to understand this language is one of the greatest gifts you can give your dog. It lets you recognise when they’re relaxed, stressed, fearful, overwhelmed or happy — so you can respond appropriately rather than guessing what your dog is thinking.
At Houndog, we believe understanding your dog’s body language is the foundation of every great relationship. When communication improves, trust grows, behaviour makes sense, and you and your dog can live together in greater harmony.

How Coaching Sessions Work
Dog Park Coaching is a real-world, hands-on learning experience — conducted inside the dog park environment itself, with your dog present. This is not a classroom or a theory session. You learn by doing, with expert guidance right there beside you.
With over 20 years of experience in dog behaviour, psychology, and pack dynamics, both Angela and Leah personally attend every coaching session with you and your dog.
