Our daycare groups are intentionally kept small, allowing the dogs to form familiar friendships and strong social bonds. We offer weekly or fortnightly attendance options.
We do not offer casual or one-off bookings. Regular exposure to a familiar, consistent group of dogs helps maintain stability, routine, and strong pack relationships — creating calmer, more socially confident dogs over time.

Assessment Day
Your dog’s first day will be an assessment to ensure they’re a great fit for our playgroup. We will give you detailed feedback on:
Playstyle, prey-drive, and pack behaviour
Recall, motivation, and manners
To help new dogs integrate successfully, we take introductions very slowly — creating a calm and seamless transition into the group environment.

How is Houndog different from indoor warehouse daycare?
At Houndog, dogs enjoy real outdoor adventures in natural environments. We manage small groups of 8-12 dogs (not 30-80 in a confined space), with size separation and 2 qualified behaviourist on hand at all times. It's a fundamentally different — and we believe, far better — experience for your dog.
Do big dogs and small dogs go together?
No. Small dogs and large dogs attend on separate days. We believe this is one of the most important factors in creating safe, balanced, and enjoyable play for every dog.
Do I need to be home for pick-up and drop-off?
For your dog's first visit, yes. After that, no — we just need your instructions on accessing your dog and where to safely leave them.
What if there's bad weather?
Daycare operates year-round including winter and light showers. In extreme weather conditions, we will postpone to another day that week and keep you informed.
Can I book just occasionally?
No — we offer weekly or fortnightly bookings only. Consistent attendance helps dogs build strong social bonds and maintain stable pack relationships. This approach produces calmer, more confident dogs.
