How did this German Shepherd lead help to home?
A State Trooper in Alaska was lead by a dog to a fire at the dogs home in Anchorage. This icy night, the fire was caused by a spark ignition. This icy night, Ben Heinrichs had been working in his shed when gas fumes caught alight setting fire to the building, which stood next to his home. Upon exiting the property with his dog he exclaimed that they’ve ‘got to get help’. Well that’s when Ben’s shepherd ‘Buddy’ took off and he did just that.
Whilst every moment counts in a fire, a Trooper was responding to an alert and close to the area in his vehicle but his global device had frozen up, when he intercepted Buddy in his headlights at an intersection. The dog walked towards him and then began running down a road to the Trooper’s left. Trooper Shanigan followed a hunch and decided to trail the dog that led him directly to the fire.
Luckily the house was saved and Buddy was hailed as a hero. The incident propelled the beautiful Shepherd to fame and shortly after, he received an official award and recognition for his help.
