We love living in an area where Stradbroke Island is almost in our backyard. It has been one of our favourite places to visit for many years now. Recently we stayed at the most fabulous accommodation called ‘Straddie Beach House 1’ and would like to share some of our experience.

Let us begin with a little tour…

This very well appointed 2 level home in Point Lookout offers two deck areas and is furnished beautifully. You’ll find all the modern conveniences including TVs, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer, ceiling fans, BBQ, Wi-Fi, Foxtel and the ‘mmm’ coffee machine. The accommodation is very reasonably priced and so clean. Having the main living areas upstairs in an open plan means you can really appreciate your surrounds.

We found the layout of this spacious home quite private and absolutely recommend it to anyone wishing to explore the island. If location is your thing, ‘Straddie Beach House 1’ is close to the beach and the shops. We walked to a restaurant for dinner and then slept it off in the most comfortable beds. Another joyous factor is that you may bring your dog along (with prior approval of course).

With a number of cafes and restaurants nearby you will be spoiled for choice. You could also walk off breakfast or lunch completing the Gorge walk circuit. On the right weekend there is plenty of whale action. The island boasts many activities, so you can choose to do it all, or simply lounge about and have a well-deserved rest.
