DOGPAW in Vancouver

Folks in greater Vancouver don’t have the luxury of council dog parks but there are a group of volunteers raising funds to run and service non-profit off-leash dog parks.  This is such a great example of dedicated dog owners ‘making it happen’.  They are called DOG PAW (Dog Owners Group for Park Access in Washington) Dog Parks.  Users are encouraged to pay a membership toward the five parks run in the area.  Some ways they fund the insurance and upkeep of parks are via public donations and merchandise sold via their online store.

We are so lucky in the state of Qld to have access to council-run off leash areas.  When we use a space like this, lets make an effort to play by the rules etiquette and be considerate to others.  Make sure to clean up before we leave and shut the gate as we exit.  Every little positive bit we do helps to ensure we have this valuable resource into the future.
